Critiques for Freelance Writers

If you’ve had negative (or zero) feedback from clients and nobody’s returned to you for more work, you’re probably wondering what you’re doing wrong. Or, maybe you’ve sent out so many cold emails and job applications that you’ve lost count, but you haven’t heard back from a single one of them. 😟

It could be a stroke of bad luck. It could be the time of year or the state of the industry.

It could also be you.

It’s not a client’s responsibility to tell you why they won’t hire you again. A recruiter isn’t going to take the time to say, “Here’s why we didn’t set up an interview…” And your friends, parents or subreddits aren’t always going to tell you the truth, whether it’s because they don’t want to hurt you or don’t understand what it takes to succeed as a freelance writer.

You have to figure it out for yourself.

If you’d like a critique, I’ll give you honest feedback.

I’ve been a full-time freelance writer and copy editor since 2009, and I’ve worked on digital and print content and copywriting across various niches. I offer critiques for an assortment of written work, including:

  • Cold emails
  • Content articles
  • Job applications
  • Test assignments
  • Writing samples

Get in touch if you’re (1) preparing for client outreach and unsure of your strategy, (2) ready to send a test or real assignment and want feedback first or (3) have no idea why an article was rejected or why your clients never seem to come back. 🤔

Critiques are $25 each and include a full-page review of your submission, including tips for improving the on-page writing and advice for refining your process overall.

Note that I don’t provide coaching services to improve your writing skills. Instead, I deliver truthful feedback based on the work you submit and my experience as a freelance writer and copy editor.
